Celebrating African Unity Day with the launch of the Women In Action empowerment initiative.
Enyo International whose primary mission is to create opportunity for economic sustainability in Africa; sponsored an African unity program on Sunday, March 4, 2007 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Saint Joseph’s Historic Foundation (Hayti Heritage Center), 804 Old Fayetteville Street, Durham, North Carolina.
The program intended to unify and empower the African community, with specific focus on the development of women. The only way to strengthen our Continent and create economic sustainability is to strengthen those invaluable components that are underutilized.
The program was entitled: WOMEN IN ACTION: Creating A Sustainable Africa.
Our guest speaker was the Honorable Raila Odinga from the Republic of Kenya (www.raila07.com). He spoke on the topic: How Can African Women Be Change Agents in Creating a Sustainable Africa?
A pre-program ceremony was held at 3:00 p.m. and a reception followed the program entitled, “A Taste of Africa.”
